This week is dominated by stories of evicted spaces who won’t quit. Who refuse to die. Where ‘R.I.P.’ doesn’t apply and active fights continue. ‘Zombie style’ would be a better fit if these spaces ever actually stopped moving. But they don’t, and that’s why we need to continue to support: by sharing their stories, follow their updates, by donating whenever possible.
GRASSTRONEWS: October 21- October 28, 2014
- Murrieta police evicted DIY spot The Dial from their Date Street location last week. They closed the space but have since energized as a collective and are looking for new locations outside of Murrieta. Follow their updates and donate to their search here.
- Over 100 students and community supporters marched today to save The Ché Cafe all-ages co-op from being evicted by University of California at San Diego. Organizing efforts continue to resist eviction; check back here for regular updates.
